Exclusive: Khaled Sabsabi faces fresh attacks as government envoy calls for arts funding crackdown

Just a week after being reinstated by Creative Australia as Australia's representative to the 2026 Venice Biennale, artist Khaled Sabsabi is under renewed attack from pro-Israel activists and News Corp.

Just one week after being reinstated by Creative Australia as Australia's representative to the 2026 Venice Biennale, artist Khaled Sabsabi is under renewed attack from pro-Israel activists and News Corp, with a fresh 113-page dossier being circulated with the intent of further damaging the artist's reputation.

In a move that appears to be deliberately timed to the release of a new government review into anti-semitism that recommends terminating funding to artists who "facilitate anti-semitism", the dossier accusing Sabsabi of a history of anti-semitism and supporting terrorism has been circulated throughout the arts community.
